En La Casa De Leo – Handmade Book
Personal Creative Project

Working with my hands has always been an important part of my process and I often create miniatures of print and digital pieces as I design. For this project, I took that process to new level, designing and silk-screening a handmade book documenting a trip to Paris. I used as my starting point photographs of family members and scenic locations taken with a medium format camera.

My fairly large camera attracted a great deal of attention and inspired an artwork in which observing and being observed are explored as complementary urban phenomena.

Repeated images suggest movement and provide visual interest, while motifs borrowed from examples of French graphic design observed during the trip personalize the piece.
